Tri-County Electric Youth Programs Light The Way To A Brighter Future

As one of the largest electric cooperatives in the country, Tri-County Electric is uniquely positioned to power not just homes, but the lives of those who live in them. 

Once again, the Cooperative is proud to spread the word on two programs focusing on empowering some of its youngest members.

Scholarship Program

In 2026, through the TCEC Scholarship Program, the Cooperative will award forty scholarships worth $5,000 each to high school seniors pursuing an academic degree or certification from an accredited university, college, junior college, or technical school.

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be a current senior in high school graduating in 2026
  • Reside with parents or legal guardians who are active members of TCEC
  • NOT be an immediate family member of Tri-County Electric's Leadership Team
  • Apply before 11:59 p.m. Friday, February 13, 2026

Youth Tour

In addition, TCEC will be sponsoring four local high school students to travel to Washington, D.C., all expenses paid as part of its 2026 Youth Your.

Students will experience some of Washington’s notable landmarks and connect with nearly 2,000 students from across the nation. It is all part of the Cooperative’s commitment to supporting the growth and development of young people in our communities. 

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be a current 10th or 11th grade student
  • Have parents/guardians who are active TCEC members
  • Apply by 5 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2026
