Max Waddell, District 9 Director and Board Treasurer & Secretary, has informed the Tri-County Electric Cooperative Board of Directors that he has withdrawn from seeking reelection.
Waddell will continue to serve on the Board through the completion of his current three-year term, which will end in September after this year’s election process.
The Credentials and Elections Committee, which independently runs the screening process for members seeking election to the Board, has nominated Don Lambert as a candidate for the District 9 seat.
“I want to thank the Tri-County Electric membership for allowing me the opportunity to represent them,” Waddell said in a statement. “I look forward to continuing my commitment to the members by serving out the remainder of my term.”
Waddell continued: “I wish Don Lambert well and extend those wishes to the remaining Board members, Cooperative President & CEO Scott Spence, and the entire TCEC team.”
As previously announced, and consistent with Tri-County’s recent transition away from Board appointments, all seats will be filled by member vote during the regular election cycle. This ensures an open, transparent process where members have the final say on who ultimately represents them on the Board. The District 5 seat will also be filled in September, with the remaining vacancies to be filled over the following two years.
