Robin Corder - District 5
Nomination Candidate
Hi, I'm Robin Corder, a passionate entrepreneur with a deep love for creative pursuits. Over the years, I've developed a strong skill set in problem-solving, managing operations, and optimizing workflows. I'm driven by the desire to innovate and bring value, whether in business or in my personal life.
My goals for serving on the Tri County Electric Board of Directors are to help improve operational efficiency, advocate for sustainable energy solutions, and ensure that all stakeholders' needs are met with transparency and dedication. I am committed to making a positive impact by fostering open communication, supporting long-term growth, and contributing to the overall success of the community.
Outside of work, I'm a firm believer in the importance of balance. Whether it's through family, friendships, or self-care, I strive to maintain harmony in all aspects of my life. I'm also passionate about giving back and staying connected to my community. Every project I undertake, whether personal or professional, is rooted in a commitment to do things with purpose and integrity.
As I continue to grow both as a businesswoman and as a creative, I'm always looking for new ways to challenge myself, learn, and inspire others. Whether you're here to talk business, share ideas, or just connect on a personal level, I'm always open to building meaningful connections.
Sommer Portwood - District 7
Incumbent
I currently serve as the Director for District 7 and am completing the final year of my first term. In December 2024, I was elected Secretary/Treasurer, and as of April 2025, I hold the position of Board Chair.
I was born and raised just outside of Seymour, Texas, on my family's ranch, which was established by my great-grandfather in 1901. After graduating from Seymour High School in 1999, I left home to attend Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas, where I earned both a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and a Master of Business Administration.
Following graduation, I spent ten years working in Central and South Texas as a pharmaceutical sales representative for Schering-Plough Corporation and other companies. In 2010, I made the decision to return home to Seymour to be closer to my family and to give back to the community that gave me so much. Over the next decade, I purchased existing businesses and opened two new ones to help make Seymour the ultimate small town to call home. Today, I proudly own and operate two of those ventures: a specialty beverage store and a thriving steakhouse.
With 20 years of experience focused on customer service, strategic planning, budgeting, and problem solving, I bring valuable skills to the table-skills that continue to serve me well when addressing important issues on behalf of TCEC and its members.
I remain committed to seeking opportunities that enhance the lives of citizens in and around Seymour. I serve on the Seymour Community Development Corporation Board and was honored to be named the Seymour Chamber of Commerce's Entrepreneur of the Year in 2019.
The electric cooperative model is built on honesty, transparency, and a member-first philosophy-an approach I deeply respect and am proud to represent. It has been an honor to serve as a director within this framework. Thank you for your continued support and for the opportunity to serve as your District 7 Director. Together, we can continue to "make the best better."
Don Lambert - District 9
Nomination Candidate
I am a long time Keller resident, having moved there in 1989 when I went to work for the federal government as an air traffic controller. I was a controller for 20 years and retired from the FAA in September of 2008. In my spare time as a controller I became interested in welding and started a welding business in 1995 , that is still in business today. I don't weld as much anymore, but still weld occasionally when needed by friends and family.
Beginning in 2013 I became the president of an alumni association for Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas. That is the college I graduated from in 1979, and for 10 years served to help grow the association and raise funds for scholarships for rodeo athletes for the college. In my tenure we raised in excess of $500,000 for deserving students to pursue their passion for rodeo and their desire for an education. After retiring I kept busy with different things until my daughters opened their own business in Southlake, Texas. They own an interior design and construction business that they started in October of 2015. They asked me to be in charge of the construction side of the business and I have been their construction project manager since 2016. The business has grown exponentially every year and they are in the process of building their own building in Southlake on the corner of state highway 114 and White Chapel boulevard.
My interest in running for a board position is simply to bring my experience, honesty, and integrity to the cooperative board to serve the good people the cooperative works for.
Thank you,
Don Lambert
