Service Charge
MEMBERSHIP FEE Each
applicant that becomes a member-owner contributes a $25.00 membership fee
which is fully refundable when the member leaves our system.
NEW ACCOUNT INITIATION CHARGE A $20.00
account initiation fee is made for processing an application for service,
either at an existing location or a new location, except in those instances
involving only a change in name where there is no change in the actual
party responsible for the charges for electric service.
SECURITY DEPOSIT If the credit of an
applicant for any type of service has not been established satisfactorily
to the Cooperative, the applicant may be required to make a deposit(s)
before service is provided.
The required deposit for permanent residential or
commercial or industrial service shall not exceed an amount equivalent to
one-sixth (1/6) of the estimated annual billings.
Increases in deposit amounts can be charged to
Customer’s account(s) as provided for in the Cooperative’s
Tariff for Electric Service.
Establishment of credit for permanent residential
applicants may establish satisfactory credit by providing a letter of
credit from a previous electric utility provider within the last two years
and is not delinquent in the payment of any such utility service and during
the last twelve (12) consecutive months of service did not have more than
one occasion in which a bill for such utility service was paid after
becoming delinquent and never had service disconnected for nonpayment.
AFTER HOURS CONNECTION CHARGE The member is
billed $50.00 for new service connections made outside regular business
hours.
ACCOUNT HISTORY CHARGE A $15.00 charge is
made each time member requests and Cooperative provides a billing/usage
premise history or analysis in excess of the latest 12 months.
DELINQUENT ACCOUNT FEE The Cooperative may
assess a one-time charge not to exceed five percent (5%) on each delinquent
bill.
TEMPORARY SERVICE CONNECTION OR REMOVAL
Single phase service wire $40.00
Single phase service & meter $75.00
Single phase service, meter, & transformer $375.00
Connection and removal charges are made in addition to
normal charges for use of temporary electric service. Charges not covered
by these standard conditions are charges on the basis of an engineering
estimate for the work required to provide service.
$40.00 will be charged to connect and disconnect single
phase service and read a meter already installed, including an account
initiation charge.
$75.00 will be charged to install and remove single phase
service wires and a meter (demand or nondemand) and read a meter, including
an account initiation charge.
$375.00 will be charged to install and remove single phase
service wires, meter and transformer (up to 50 kva) on existing pole and
read meter, including an account initiation charge.
COLLECTION LETTER CHARGE A $30.00 charge is
made for processing a registered or certified letter demanding payment for
past due accounts.
RETURNED CHECK FEE The Cooperative shall
charge $20.00 for each check or other form of payment which is dishonored
or returned to the Cooperative. Any customer having a check or other form
of payment dishonored two (2) or more times in a 12-month period may be
required to pay by cash, money order, or certified check.
TRIP FEE Except as provided for in the
Cooperative’s Tariff for Electric Service, the Cooperative shall
charge $50.00 for each trip to Customer’s premises which is requested
by the Customer or reasonably necessary under the Cooperative’s
Tariff for Electric Service or standard operating practice (e.g., trip to
Customer’s premises for connection, reconnection, trouble report
investigation, or to make disconnection).
If a trip to Customer’s premises is made outside of
the Cooperative’s normal working hours Customer shall be charged
$80.00.
No charge shall be made to investigate an outage or service
irregularity unless causes by Customer or Customer’s installation or
equipment; then the Customer shall be required to pay actual costs as
determined by the Cooperative.
METER TEST FEE If Customer’s meter
has been tested at Customer’s request and within a period of four (4)
years the Customer requests a new test, the Cooperative shall make the test
but if the meter is found to be within the accuracy standards established
by the American National Standards Institutes, Inc., the Cooperative may
charge the Customer a fee which reflects the cost to test the meter,
however, this charge shall not be more than $15.00 for a residential
customer.
METER TAMPERING A $100.00 meter tampering
charge is made for unauthorized reconnection or other tampering with
Cooperative metering facilities or any theft of electric service by any
person on Customer’s premises or evidence thereof by whomsoever done
at Customer’s premises. An additional charge for the cost of repairs
and/or replacement of damaged facilities, installing protective facilities
or relocation of meter, and the estimated amount of electric service not
recovered by meter, if any, is also made.
RECONNECT
CHARGE
During regular business hours $20.00
The reconnect charge is made when Customer requests
reconnection of electric service after having been disconnected in
accordance with the Cooperative’s Tariff for Electric Service.
CONNECTION CHARGE The Customer will be
billed an additional $50.00 for new service connections made outside
regular business hours.
DISCONNECTION FOR NON-PAYMENT The $20.00
disconnect for non-payment charge is made when service to the Customer is
disconnected for non-payment.
MAINTENANCE WORK Charges for maintenance
work will be made for maintenance to Customer’s facilities by
Cooperative personnel when said work is agreed to by the
Cooperative’s upper management staff. Charges for such service will
be based on the Cooperative’s cost plus appropriate adders such as tax,
freight, overhead, franchise taxes, ad valorem taxes, etc.
MISCELLANEOUS SERVICE CHARGES Miscellaneous
charges for miscellaneous services not covered by the standard condition or
charges/fees outlined in the Cooperative’s Tariff for Electric
Service will be based on the Cooperative’s cost plus appropriate
adders such as tax, freight, overhead, franchise taxes, ad valorem taxes,
etc.
Other charges for service may apply. Always contact
your Cooperative for any questions regarding charges, fees,
contributions-in-aid-of-construction, etc. The Cooperative’s fees and
charges as outlined in its Tariff for Electric Service are subject to
change with approval of the appropriate regulatory authority(s).
